The Department of Education, Davao City Division commenced its First
DepEd Research Conference in Celebration of the Education Week last December
15, 2008 at the Division Training Center, Palma Gil St., Davao City,
Philippines.
Objectives of the conference were to increase level of awareness of the DepEd personnel on the role of
Research and Development in the Basic Education and to discuss significance of
research findings and recommendations for strong policy actions through
information and dissemination.
Public School Teachers, School heads and Education Supervisors were
invited to witness the said conference. There were five oral and nine poster
presenters who exhibited research outputs and implications on different issues
concerning teaching-learning process.
DepEd, Davao City Division in cooperation with the Local School Board (LSB) and the International Institute for Rural Reconstruction (IIRR) conducted the B.I.G. training from September 10-12, 2008 for the first batch and from September 15-17, 2008 for the second batch.
The training aims to enable the participants to set-up and maintain Bio-Intensive Garden in their designated schools. The objectives of the three-day training are:
