DPWH, DepEd to adopt computerized cost estimation system to implement school building program

MANILA (PNA) — The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and Department of Education (DepEd) had express their strong support in the adoption of computerized Cost Estimate System (CES).

DPWH Secretary Hermogenes E. Ebdane, Jr. said the setup would speed up the implementation of the School Building Program.

School official calls for serious evaluation of education programs

Davao City (25 October) — A private school leader called on government to come up with serious evaluations of educational programs.

Dr. Alicia Sayson, vice president for Academic Affairs of the University of the Immaculate Conception (UIC) said the program has not trickled down to the intended beneficiaries.

CEBU CITY – The Department of Education faces a tough challenge in implementing its information and communications technology (ICT) road map.

Education Secretary Jesli Lapus on Sept. 10 said he expected to have a tough time convincing members of the House of Representatives of the need for a special budget of P2 billion for the five-year Information and Communications Technology for Education (ICT4E) strategic plan.
