XIV to the protection and promotion of the welfare of the Filipino

President
Gloria Arroyo signed Wednesday the Salary Standardization Law (SSL) III
that is expected uplift the condition of countrys government employees
and boost the nations economy.
Congress approved Joint Reso-lution 26, a Malacañang-certified measure principally authored by Sen. Edgardo Angara that would upgrade the compensation of government employees in low-level up to top positions effective July 1.
The joint resolution has sought to correct the distortions and inconsistencies
in the present compensation system, taking into account the principle of equal
pay for work of equal value in proposing a performance-based scheme to reward
exemplary civil servants.
